Precision Knee Decompression for Lasting Relief

Knee Decompression & Recovery

Are you Suffering from Knee Pain?

Do you enjoy staying active, but knee pain is limiting your ability to move comfortably? Many people first try lifestyle changes such as weight management, activity modification, low-impact exercise, bracing, medications, or injections to reduce stress on the knee. While these approaches can help, they do not always provide lasting relief. If you have tried conservative care—or are looking to avoid invasive procedures—you may be a candidate for our Knee Recovery Program. This non-surgical approach is designed to reduce joint stress, improve function, and help patients return to a more active lifestyle.

Some Symptoms of Chronic Knee Pain:

  • Progressive knee soreness, stiffness, or ongoing discomfort
  • Swelling or tenderness, especially after sitting or resting
  • Feelings of instability, including the knee giving way or locking
  • Reduced range of motion, making stairs or full leg extension difficult
  • Difficulty performing everyday activities without pain or discomfort

Knee Recovery at Lit Chiropractic

Our approach to knee pain emphasizes conservative, non-invasive care designed to support the body’s natural healing process—without relying on medications, repeated injections, or surgery. Chronic knee dysfunction often leads to reduced mobility, making everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or playing with children and grandchildren increasingly difficult.

We take a comprehensive approach to knee care by combining multiple therapies aimed at restoring function and improving movement:

  • Digital X-Rays
Used to evaluate joint health, identify degenerative or arthritic changes, and assess alignment concerns that may contribute to knee pain.

  • SoftWave Therapy
A patented extracorporeal shockwave therapy that targets injured tissue at the cellular level to stimulate the body’s natural repair processes. This therapy may help improve circulation, reduce inflammation, support connective tissue health, and provide temporary pain relief while activating the body’s own healing response.

  • Knee-On-Trac® Decompression
A specialized knee decompression system that uses static and intermittent traction to gently reduce joint compression and increase joint spacing, helping relieve stress within the knee.

  • Chiropractic Adjustments
Chiropractic care may help improve joint alignment and movement in the spine, hips, and lower extremities that influence knee mechanics. Improving overall alignment can reduce stress on the knee and support better movement patterns.

What is Knee-On-Trac®?

The Knee-On-Trac® Joint Decompression System is a non-surgical therapy designed to reduce pressure within the knee joint. Using controlled, mechanical traction, the system gently separates the joint surfaces to decrease compressive forces while supporting surrounding soft tissues.

How Knee-On-Trac® Works

Conditions That May Benefit from Knee Decompression

Knee decompression uses controlled, computer-guided traction to:

  • Reduce compression inside the knee joint
  • Improve nutrient and fluid exchange
  • Decrease stress on cartilage and surrounding tissues
  • Support long-term joint health and mobility

Unlike exercise or manual stretching, Knee-On-Trac® delivers consistent, precise decompression that the body cannot achieve on its own.

Conditions That May Benefit from Knee Decompression

Conditions That May Benefit from Knee Decompression

Knee-On-Trac® is commonly used for patients experiencing:

  • Knee arthritis (degenerative or wear-and-tear changes)
  • Chronic knee pain or stiffness
  • Cartilage degeneration
  • Knee pain with walking, standing, or stairs
  • Post-injury knee discomfort
  • Limited knee range of motion

Each treatment plan is customized based on exam findings and patient's response.

What to Expect During Treatment

Knee-On-Trac® Therapy

Knee decompression sessions are generally comfortable, non-invasive, and designed to be gentle on the joint. During treatment, controlled and precisely calibrated pulling forces are applied to the knee to help reduce joint compression while remaining within your comfort level. Each session typically lasts 10–20 minutes, allowing the knee to gradually relax and adapt to the therapy.

Many patients report improved comfort, reduced stiffness, and better mobility within the first few visits, though individual results vary. Knee decompression is often combined with other supportive therapies to enhance joint function, promote long-term improvement, and help you achieve the best possible outcome.

Testimonials on Our Knee Recovery Program

"...My athletic ability was limited by the pain of the meniscus tear and moderate osteoarthritis in both knees. I did not want to do surgery and decided to give Softwave a try.

I’m a little over half way through my treatment plan and the results are practically a miracle! I can walk up and down stairs freely - NO PAIN. In fact, I can practically run down the stairs - previously I had to lean on the hand rail and gingerly walk down..."

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Lit@LitChiropractic.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Knee-On-Trac® is an FDA-cleared knee decompression system designed to assist in the non-surgical management of chronic knee pain related to degenerative changes, meniscal involvement, and reduced joint mobility.

Many patients begin noticing improvements in comfort, movement, or stiffness within the first few sessions, although individual responses vary. Optimal results are typically seen over time as the knee adapts to treatment and care is progressed based on each patient’s response.

The cost of Knee-On-Trac® treatment can vary depending on the individual’s condition, treatment frequency, and whether it is combined with other therapies. Knee decompression is often paired with additional treatments as part of a personalized program of care, and bundled treatment plans typically offer discounted rates compared to single sessions. A consultation allows us to determine the most appropriate approach for your needs.

Knee decompression therapy is non-invasive and generally well tolerated. Some patients may experience mild, temporary soreness or stiffness that typically resolves as the knee adjusts to treatment.
